Story: Montezuma Avenue is part of the Cove in La Quinta, California. The Avenue has a wonderful eclectic mix of old and new architecture. I had scouted this house before this trip, always searching for some special light and waiting for permission from the owner to make the shot. While setting up my camera, the owner arrived home. Before long, I was sipping a friendly glass of wine and enjoying a tour of what lay behind this doorway. The light just before the sun dropped behind the horizon on a short winter day gave it just the right saturation and tiny shadows. Now, years later, a new owner has completely changed this scene with new landscaping, demonstrating how fleeting a photograph can be.
