Story: I could have spent days at the infamous enchanting Hotel California in Todos Santos I made just a few adjustments in composition here, such as moving a table and opening the door slightly - my sleeping daughter under billowing canopies inside. The key to light, however, is anticipating what is probably going to happen. Late afternoon was too sunlit. The light was dark and gloomy at 8 a.m. With the sun far to the south in late December, I knew the opportunity would be limited for the light I expected from that angle. I set up as the sun crept along the southern sky, anticipating only a few moments of in-between light when the shadows and curtains would be brightened by sunlight and reflected light, mindful that the contrast of the image would fit within the range of Fuji Velvia.
