Story: First
started in 1904, the Butchart Gardens has grown to become a premier
West Coast display garden, while maintaining the gracious traditions of
the past. The Gardens has established an international reputation for
its year round display of flowering plants. By 1908, reflecting
their world travels, the Butcharts had created a Japanese Garden on the
sea-side of their home. Later an Italian Garden was created and a fine
Rose Garden was added also. This particular walkway and wonderful red
bridge are part of the Japanese Garden. The Butchart Gardens is a must
stop for any visitor to British Columbia.
