Story: Storms plagued the High Sierra in January of 1995. I composed this image from the Alabama Hills, half way up to Mt. Whitney. The great distance required the use of a very long telephoto lens. I made one attempt at this shot a couple of weeks earlier, but the light was not very good. On the first clear morning in 19 days, I awoke at 4:00 A.M. and returned to the location.
