WORKSHOP STUDENT QUOTES
"To anyone considering an Eastern Sierra Fall Colors Photographic Workshop, this is the one to attend ! Vern guides you with his passionate approach to photography by helping the participant to carefully visualize the image from both creative and technical aspects. He openly shares his techniques with his personal teaching style; limiting class size and allowing the opportunity for lots personal instruction, and answering all the questions. His knowledge of the Eastern Sierra photo spots is impeccable, as he guides you to each of his treasured locations. In fact he shared two of his secrete spots with us ! Post shoot allows prompt custom processing for film and a critique session for both film and digital images. Careful comment is expressed to aid in the photographic understanding and better the photographer on their next image.
If you are considering a fall colors workshop, or for that matter any workshop that Vern puts on, I suggest that you attend. You will leave with a better understanding of the photographic process knowing that you have learned from a master -- accompanied with some incredible images that you will be proud to say are yours!"

“I just wanted to thank you for the excellent job that you and your staff did on
the Eastern Sierra Fall Workshop. The locations were breathtaking; your
knowledge of the Eastern Sierra led us to some outstanding photo opportunities.
The small class size allowed everyone time to quiz you in the field following
the lectures. I really appreciated the time that I was able to spend with you in
the field analyzing the potential of a specific site. I have always been awed by
your eye for composition and lighting, and this workshop helped me to have more
insight into how you “see” the images before they present themselves.
I really appreciated you taking the time to share your knowledge and enthusiasm
with us. The class provided me with a new perspective on identifying photo
opportunities, and helped me become more comfortable with the filters. You also
pointed out some characteristics of my film that I was unaware of, which allowed
me to get some great shots as the class progressed.
Your time, knowledge and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated. Also, thanks to
Janet for the breakfast burritos. They made the early starts so much easier.
Many thanks for a wonderful experience.”
Take care,

"The fall colors workshop in Bishop was outstanding. The small group size really
worked well, and allowed for the one-on-one time during shooting that is
essential when trying to figure the right compositions, etc. The lecture
sections covered many very useful topics, and it was great to be able to use
actual examples to illustrate the concepts. And Terry and Janet were great
assistants! But above all, the shooting locations were exceptional in their
quality and variety. I would certainly recommend this workshop to any serious
photographer. The only problem was that the Janet's breakfasts and lunches were
so good that I think I put on a couple of pounds!"

"Want to let you know how much I enjoyed the workshop - the learning and
the beauty of it all. You were a patient teacher for one such as I and
I appreciated that - a lot! I did learn so much, definitely enough to
know that I want to get a "real" camera, lens, filters and all, for the
times I want to have killer shots."
